Located near Guanyin Temple, the Japanese-era air-raid shelters consist of five caves built during World War II. At that time, Pingxi, rich in coal mines, became a target for air raids, and residents dug these shelters for safety. The shelters retain their original rock walls and passageway structures, bearing witness to wartime life and local history. Today, the interiors are well-preserved, and visitors can tour the shelters and learn about the Pingxi coal mines and the wartime historical context. The Japanese-era air-raid shelters offer both historical education and tourism value, serving as an important base for exploring local war history.
